Requirements

Must have a comprehensive background in the interscholastic sport for which you are applying.
Must exhibit advanced knowledge of rules in the interscholastic sport for which you are applying.
Must be registered with the NJSIAA as an official in the interscholastic sport for which you are applying.
Must demonstrate sound and unbiased judgment.
Must be of high moral character and have an impeccable record of sound integrity and honesty.

Experience

Candidates currently working as an official in the interscholastic sport for which you are applying is preferred but not required.
Candidates that are or has been a NJSIAA chapter level rules Interpreter is preferred but not required.
Candidates with varsity level officiating experience in the interscholastic sport for which they are applying is preferred but not required.
Candidates that have served as a state tournament official within the past three years in the interscholastic sport for which they are applying is preferred but not required.
Candidates that have officiated a NJSIAA State Tournament Final in the interscholastic sport for which they are applying is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Be available to attend and participate in all rule interpretation meetings.
Be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Be available to answer questions from officials, Athletic Directors, coaches, and NJSIAA staff.
Candidate must communicate all correspondence through the NJSIAA Director responsible for the sport.
